D. hour I can Therapy

Therapies for anxiety, trauma, depression, overwhelm, low self esteem, change work, or loss.

Welcome! I'm Damian Hourican, offering therapy approaches that fit you, either online or in-person from Wimbledon & Chiswick.

Therapies in a comfortable and private setting

Hi, I realise starting therapy can feel daunting. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure where to begin - I know I was before therapy gave me the step up I once needed. I now work with an ethos of giving back to others by providing a calm, affordable, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is going on for you; through a therapeutic relationship we can unpack any emotional or psychological distress and find new ways to gain clarity and control of those experiences and regulate the nervous system as we do so. We will work collaboratively, understanding your unique circumstances as they are for you, and work in a way that allows you to gain knowledge of yourself. I will support you each step of the way.

Who do I specialise in helping?

I work particularly well with those experiencing:

  • Anxiety, panic or constant worry
  • Low mood or depression
  • Trauma or distressing past experiences
  • Difficulties in relationships
  • Low self esteem or confidence
  • Feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected
  • Struggling with loss, change or life transitions
  • Habit change

How my practice can help!

My practice provided a space to slow things down and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Working together, we can explore what is going on for you, what may be contributing to your difficulties and find ways of bringing about change that feels right for you.

Through therapy, you can begin to:

  • Gain clarity and self-understanding
  • Develop healthier ways of managing difficult emotions
  • Process painful or traumatic experiences
  • Improve relationships including the one you have with yourself
  • Feel more grounded confident and resilient

There is no pressure to talk about anything until you're ready. We work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

I draw from a range of Therapeutic approaches including:

  • Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT) - exploring how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact, and identifying changes that can reduce distress
  • EMDR - a structured approach particularly helpful for trauma and distressing memories.
  • Hypnotherapy/NLP - accessing subconscious drives/patterns to make positive change
  • Therapeutic Counselling - will allow you to feel comfortable as you begin to understand yourself better, nurture self compassion, and work through the reasons you have come to counselling.

I have completed over six years of committed training and supervised clinical practice to qualify as a therapist. This included in-depth theoretical study alongside extensive client work, including a clinical placement within the NHS, which helped shape a thoughtful, safe, and professional approach to therapy. I am a MBACP-registered therapist and work in line with professional standards. I work integratively, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR and NLP tailoring my work to meet each client’s individual needs.

Speak in Confidentiality

As a therapist, I offer a private space for you to process and navigate thoughts, emotions, events, past experiences, and behaviours. You can arrange a free telephone consultation where I can introduce myself and you can see if I am the right fit for you. You can also take this opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Your Path Forward

Therapy can help you understand patterns in your thoughts and emotions so that you feel more in control and able to move forward. It can bring about deeper awareness, identify coping mechanisms, and help you process what has been happening on many different levels. We will use this space to move you forward at your pace.

Getting Started
